Re: RE: O2 code/Fluctuating Idle/Gasket Recomendations

I have new FMS 19#.
I replaced the header gaskets once already. There is a bad machine job where
the rear driver side header mates with the head. It's was machined with a
very narrow land and that's where it probably blew again. I used Fel-Pro's but
was thinking of trying the Mr. Gasket Ultra Seal. As per Summit "This premium
exhaust gasket set is designed and constructed to improve sealing of exhaust
header flanges. Unlike standard exhaust gasket material, Ultra-Seal exhaust
gaskets incorporate a graphite-impregnated facing and a steel expanded metal
core that reinforces and increases the tensile strength. This gives the gasket
the ability to conform to warped flanges, giving it better sealing capabilities
without deteriorating or cracking under the excessive heat and pressure common
in the exhaust system" Anyone try these? How about Percy's dead soft
aluminum gaskets?
Thanks,
James
