Don-if I were you, I'd put that battery in now, before the trip!
Batteries have a funny way of taking a dump on you at the most
inopportune times.
How are the brakes? I see you installed a t-stat, but have you ever
changed the coolant? If not, might want to do that too. Lastly, are
the tires in good balance to minimize vibrations, in alignment to get
good wear, and have you checked the air pressure in all of them,
including the spare?
