You misread my statement. I said battery failure can prevent the truck from
idling and may cause the need for you to press the accellerator slightly to
get it to start. Notice I said " However it should not prevent it from
starting". When the battery failled in my r/t the last time the truck would
not start unles i pressed on the accelerator slightly. If I did not do that
it would not fire at all. also after the new battery was installed it took
quite a few starts and over an hour of driving to relearn idle speed.
