a hair dryer will do it, and a bit of color-back, will fix the edges... then wax it good and you are set..

I've seen several Dakotas with the factory "DODGE" "Dakota" and "Sport"
lettering removed. I like the look and I'm considering doing the same.
I assume a little bit of heat(heat-gun) and a plastic putty knife would
work... How have you all done this?
Also this truck is 3 years old... Am I going to still see the ghost
image of the stickers where they used to be? The paint still looks
great, but I imagine there will still be a difference with the unexposed
paint.
