I think it depends a lot on the particular truck and installation. In
just over 2 years, I'd say close to 20% of the paint on the bed of my
truck was either gone or *severely* scuffed. The drop-in (also a
Duraliner) always seemed a bit loose to me, even though all of the
"clamps" in the side were tight.
No rusting, of course -- I suspect it'd take a number of years before
that'd become any sort of a problem. (Particularly where I live
[Northern California] where it only rains from October until April)
