I found out, the hard way, that the connection between the cable and the
linkage is different between the '92-93 and newer year TBs. The newer models
have a "T" style connector on the end of the cable that fits into a groove
in the linkage. The earlier TBs have a ball on the linkage that fits into a
socket on the end of the cable. I did not have any issues with using the
newer TB with a return line fuel system. My engine, including TB and intake
are from a 95, but I changed the fuel rail to a return line to work with my
existing setup on my '93.
