Subject: DML: New NV3500 5SPD under warranty
Got my truck back from the dealer on Thursday. After it was in for the LSD
they told me they were replacing the tranny as well.
I feel vindicated because I've had it in 5 times in the last three years to
see if they could do something about the vagueness of it all. It was less of
a tranny and more of a broomstick in a bucket of cold molasses.
The new tranny is amazing. It has actual spots where the gear shift goes
that will actually result in transmission engagement when the clutch is
released. My butt says it might be geared slgihtl;y different than the old
one, but I know that's unlikely. Seems that starts in 2nd are a little more
difficult and first gear may get some use again.
I left the clutch as they said there was nothing wrong with it. Lots of
highways miles and I don't tend to slip the clutch much (smooth driving?
what smooth driving).
It's like a new truck, between the new plugs, throttle body cleaning, LSD
and trannsmission.
