that's worked for me four out of four times since 9/11, but a friend of
mine got turned back at one of the Detroit-ish crossings this spring
for not having proof of citizenship. I'd avoid trying it if it's out
of your way for a stretch on 90. from the Windy City I'd take 80/90
across anyway....
