They can work with a little work. You may or may not need 1/4" spacers
(17" r/t wheel do if you want to use the center caps and not grind the
a-arm (you should still do it a little). More than likely the little ram
head in the center will have to be removed due to the fact that on Gen
III truck the hub isn't near as deep as on the Gen II trucks. Because of
this the grease cap will have to stick through where that rams head is.
Out of all of the Gen III wheels I think the 16" ones would fit the
best. I tried a set of the older 15: ones a while back (before the r/t
wheels) and had a fit with them (Jon, hope you have better luck) because
the back edge of the rim was in the exact same line as the end of the
upper a-arm. The 16" shold be just the right offset and diameter to
avoid that. The 17" just barely miss. If you use the wheels and need to
use spacers let me know since I know where to get the bulge acorn lugs
with the extra shank on the end to make up for the spacer and get a good
grip on the threads.

Subject: DML: Gen III wheels on a Gen II
I have been seeing alot of the 16" wheels from Gen III trucks for sale
on
e-bay and was wondering if anyone knows if they will fit on my GenII
truck
(1992). I know the bolt pattern is the same but my rims have holes for
the
hubs, are these other ones dished out on the back side to accommodate
that?
There is a sample of what I am looking at below.
