A few items to watch out for on the 2.7L's:
(1) 2.7L is very prone to oil sludge buildup (see them every day with
engines going bad from excessive oil sludge buildup) - average mileage
is about 40-50K max (Yes...synthetic oil can prevent this)
(2) Belt Tensioner bracket can break causing the pulley to carve a nice
notch in the head (sometimes cutting deep into the head requiring head
replacement)
(3) Tensioner bracket has a "Used" and "New" belt notch - Do NOT use the
Used notch...just replace the belt (or #2 can happen rather quickly)
(4) Zero-Tolerance engine - once it breaks, that's it (can't resurface
the heads either)

Are you inquiring about the 2-door coupe or 4-door sedan? My wife has
a
2002 Stratus R/T sedan, 2.7L, auto-stick. She drag races it in the
Import/Sport Compact class and won the Track Championship last year.
Good
handling, firm but comfortable ride, great seats, lots of room, good gas
mileage. Hasn't used any oil or had any problems in 14,000 miles.
Brakes
are terrific but leave a lot of dust on the front wheels. Performed
great
in the snow last winter.
