Ahem...a little bit before your time eh? ;)
Type-F was all you were supposed to use in the older Ford transmissions
for a long time - couldn't use Dexron/Mercon at all. The Type-F had
friction modifiers in them due to the piss-poor clutch material that
Ford was using at the time (needed something to make it "stickier").
