Now Bernd, you are not that old...but my Father was a Detroit-trained Ford
mechanic and I recall them having actual sperm whale oil in that tranny
fluid. My Dad bitched up a storm when they had to stop using that stuff.

Type-F was all you were supposed to use in the older Ford transmissions
for a long time - couldn't use Dexron/Mercon at all. The Type-F had
friction modifiers in them due to the piss-poor clutch material that
Ford was using at the time (needed something to make it "stickier").
