Trying to keep it cool

Okay I'm hopeing Bernd will have some input since he's in pretty much the
same climate. And he was talking about the R/T with the 6 row radiator
staying cool not to long ago.

I've got a 2K QC 4x4 with the 5.9 only mods to date are Autolight 3923s, a
180 T-Stat and a Gibson 3" single out bolt-on exhaust. I do have plans
for K&N Intake, New TB and maybe some ignition work. Mainly beafier coil
since I've heard the V8s don't respond to the MSD quite as well as the V6s
do.

My problem is keeping the temperature closer to 180 and away from the 200
mark in the Houston summer months. Reason being as soon as I cross into
the 200 mark I start having pinging problems when accelerating. My
thoughts have been:

1) Replace the stock fan and aux electric with big electric that I can
then hook up to a new temp sensor so it will kick in around 150 - 160
instead of 210.
2) Install an oil cooler (although I have no idea where I'd put it without
it adding more head to the radiator /evaporator air flow).
3) Bigger radiator. Does any one know how many rows the stock radiator for
the 5.9 has?
4) All of the above. But did I mention I'm on a budget and have a kid on
the way and my wife would kill me?

Thanks
Kenneth
