The roots of the 518 are definitely 727. You can make the 518 take 850+
FtLbs for about $2800-3000 (on the average and built properly -
w/converter).

I already tried Allpar.com and had mixed results. Didn't find much on
the 518. I did find lots of into regarding the hisroty of the 727, and
lots of tech specs, but not the bottom line figured I want.
I have heard the 518 is basically a 727 with an overdrive unit? How
reliable are the two of them? How much HP and TQ can they handle?
