not sure if you have the center console or the 40.20.40 bench, but if
you've got the bench, you should be able to slide the whole drink
holder assembly out by pressing a hidden catch on the top center of it.
at least that's how my '98 works.
once it's out, you can disassemble it completely and just wash it out
real well.
