I've mentioned on the list both times I've broken 17 with my 4x4 gen
III 318. it never happened until the PCM flash (superchips). I
usually get around 14.5 to 15.5 on the highway, so I'd say you're not
completely out of line for what I'd assume is getting to be a pretty
tired truck, but I would still check the usual suspects (air filter,
plugs/wires/cap/rotor, fuel system clean-out, fuel leaks?)
