I'm planning on buying a used car for my wife and would like to ask those of
you out there that know more than I a question. The engine is a 4 cyl, 5
spd with air. When we took it out for a test drive everything ran great but
I'm curious about the fact that at idle when you push the button to activate
the rear window defrosters the idle would drop 100-150 RPM. When we turn on
the air conditioning at idle it would only drop 50 RPM or so. I've never
owned a vehicle with air conditioning so I don't know if that little drop is
normal or not. But what gets me is the 100-150RPM drop when you turn the
rear defrosters on. Should this be acceptable, or any ideas on what could
be causing this fluctuation? By the way it's a 95 Mercury Mystique GS 2.0L
(I know, but she likes it, it's not a ricer) :-)

Thanks again guys for any feedback.
Jay
