If you keep the 5.9 as a package (ie the balancer and flexplate) the only
change will be the need for a neutral weighted torque converter (5.2 or 5.9)
The balancer must stay with the engine as it is balanced for the 5.9. The
other end though can be done in a few different ways. Neutral flexplate
balanced TC, Balanced Flexplate neutral TC, Balanced flywheel. The engine in
question has the stock 5.9 balancer and a weighted (balanced) flexplate. The
balancer shouldn't have to be touched...
Check in the archives (like I did) as this has been done numerous times and
is pretty simple.
