The small vent hole helps get rid of air pockets (also helps a little
bit on initial fill).

You can use either one but you'd be better off with the standard t'stat.
Unless you have a high-flow water pump, the high-flow t'stat isn't going
to do a whole lot more for ya.

Subject: DML: 180 T-stat, revisited (Canadian)

For us Canadian's , I was at Canadian Tire today looking for a 180
T-stat for my 97 Dak 318 and they have the OEM, Failsafe, and the High
Flow. I'm interested in the High Flow but I'm wondering if anyone out
there has used
one of these T-stats in their Dak's. I also noticed on the Failsafe
and
High Flow they have a small vent hole with a little tiny brass "weight"
on the side of the mounting platform, and the OEM one doesn't have it.
Has anyone used one of these in their Dak's and what would be the
purpose of this small vent hole? Also does anyone know who makes the
T-stats for Canadian Tire?

TIA
Jay
