so in the Dodge-supplied Cummins B5.9 line, there's:
standard output I-6
        250/460
        (unless you're in CA, ME or MA: 235/460)
high output I-6
        305/555
        (unless you're in CA, ME or MA: n/a)
weenie south american I-4 - model unknown
        115/220

none of these appear in the B-Series listings on Cummins' site (that I
can see - there are *many* available, all listed for different
applications), though "Additional ratings may be available. Check with
your Cummins distributor or dealer."

the ISB line, which "takes everything we've learned over the past
decade with the B3.9 and B5.9 ... to a new dimension" seems a closer
fit to the numbers Dodge gives, and fits well with the fact that the
TDs that DC is using are 'new for 03'

the first 5.9L ISB engine I came across is the ISB 260
        260/660 (962#)
there's also a slightly higher revving ISB 260 with a MUCH flatter
torque curve rated at
        260/550 (962#)
the lowest rated 5.9L for medum truck use is the ISB 185
        185/420 (962#)
and then there's the ISB 170 - a 3.9L I-4
        170/420 (773#)

the B3.3 is a 4 banger, and relatively good guess as to the south
american dakota block. it weighs between 550-585#.

allpar failed me for finding the weights of the gassers, so I can't
quantify any of this power-to-weight wise, but power-wise:
3.9 v6 175/225
4.7 v8 240/300
5.2 v8 230/300
5.9 v8 250/345

I'm not going to bother analyzing any of this, but it's interesting
information...
