The MP 518 is a non-lockup trans, as is the one I'm now using in my '92. It
has been used in some magazine build-ups of older muscle cars so should be
able to handle the power. Your current PCM will be fine. Mine is the MP
PCM for an automatic and the only issue is it sets a code about the lockup
torque converter. Duh, it no longer has one. :-) You can use any
non-lockup 727 converter but will need the magnum flexplate with the slots
for the crank position sensor and be sure the mounting lugs on the converter
clear the lip on the flex plate. A 2400 stall will probably be about right
for the 360. You will need either the converter or flexplate to have the
balance weights for the externally balanced 360. Check the MP catalog. If
the tranny doesn't shift crisply enough for you, you can always install the
Transgo kit later.
