  The tensioners on these engines (3.9/5.2/probably5.9) are pretty bad.
I've replaced mine twice. You should be able to tell if the tensioner is
weak and not returning to it's proper spot. The tensioner runs about $80 at
NAPA around here and $107 at the dealer. It's easy to replace....one nut.

i just had my a/c recharged and they told me that my idle tensioner was a
little weak and it was causing my belt to squeel some. does anyone know how
much one costs or how difficult it is to fix?
