Warranty Issue...that's easy:

Dodge - Cummins Turbo Diesel Engines. Do NOT use a K&N Filter as they
come apart in this application...at least the model that K&N is
providing for them. Use the updated filter from Mopar that has a
support bar and extra foam filtering material. If a K&N filter is found
in the airbox...warranty is voided due to this known issue.

I haven't heard (or run across) any other engine from DC where using the
K&N replacement filter in the factory airbox voids the warranty...just
the Diesels.

I heard that a properly oiled K&N was better filtration than a paper
filter. I also heard that at least 1 dealer will not warranty engine
work if a K&N is used. Can we really find out the truth?
