TPS is the most common culprit on this, but can also be caused by a
broken boost-valve retainer (top of the valve body). Does the truck not
shift properly (at WOT) on the 2-3 shift or seems sluggish going into
reverse? Or do the RPM's just flucutate in cruise control mode? It
could also be small leak in the vacuum system for the cruise control
solenoid or an intermittent short in the cruise control solenoid itself.

Subject: Re: DML: Trans Shuddering at 167,000 help please??
Funny thing it wasnt shuddering on the shift points... I had the cruse
on, set at 80... Its hard to really explain, it kinda surged up in
RPM's about 100 RPM, then went back to the normal 2300rpm's
I'm afraid this puppy is gonna be a big ol' can of worms. ;)
