It's rather strange that the ES9000's are causing shock bolt issues.
Myself and a few others have installed them and mine worked beautifully
up until I lowered the truck. They were on there for over two years and
I still hav the factory lower shock bolts installed with my Hotchkis kit
and KYB MonoMAX shocks. (It's a '97 truck as well).

Well, these are the only ones I've seen people here report (although
I've only been skimming message topics for a while now).
I bought and installed these before all the reports started or I
wouldn't have bought them.
My theory (FWIW): DC softened the ride and suspension parts so much when
"non-traditional truck buyers" started buying these that they can't
handle a tougher shock. Or maybe the ES9000 is just too much for our
Daks.
Has anyone ever asked Explorer ProComp if they have an explanation?
I just removed the shock: the bolt sheared off even with the lower
control arm. I'll post a picture of the two parts later today.

Maybe I'm just slow...but Bob had ES9000s and snapped 4 bolts - then I
think he moved on to a new shock, and he's been silent since. You guys
both had/have ES9000s and have broken a dozen between you.
Is this the only shock we've had snapping these bolts?
