It was the A frame nuts on mine, just had to tighten them down a bit..they
are like a one inch nut near the top of the shocks.

BTW my truck does this occassionally too. It's so intermittent that I don't
know how to trace it. I usually notice when pulling in or backing out of
the driveway. Just one 'pop'. almost a clunk but not quite. All the talk
about ball joints makes me suspect them but I get new tires tomorrow
(finally) and I'll have them look and see what they come up with.
