law school is running me about $4,000 a semester (including books). i've
racked up a total of about $30,000 over a year and a half.

That's about all I'm paying, not including books and such. In fact I'm
sitting
in a class right now... :-)

We're very fortunate in California to have some very good and affordable
state
schools. The California State University (CSU) campuses are all in that
range,
but the University of California (UC -- i.e. Berkeley et. al) are
significantly
more expensive. Most of the UC schools are also more focused on research
and/or graduate studies.
