Me either. I was looking at an '85 prospector a couple of months ago.
It had a newly rebuilt (< 10k miles) 318 and the interior was in
pretty good shape (front seats recently reupholstered). It had some
problems, though. It would have needed new tires almost right away,
new shocks, and the tranny felt a little uneasy to me (original tranny
still). The guy wanted something like $3300 for the truck and
wouldn't budge when I was pestering him about it. I didn't want to
spend $3300 to very quickly have to spend at least that much on
necessary repairs. I saw him re-post the ad for $2500 a couple of
weeks later and it sold shortly after that.
He didn't have any specifics about the engine rebuild (a "friend of
the family" is a mechanic, blah blah blah)... I don't think I would
have offered him more than $2000 for it because of all of the things
he was uncertain about.
Woulda been nice, though. I'm still keeping my eyes open for the
right opportunity.
