Subject: DML: Head Light Wiring
Does anyone have a FSM that would be willing to fax/scan the head light
wiring diagram pages for my 99 Dakota SLT for me?
I have a Haynes manual and the wiring diagrams do not appear to be
correct/complete.
What I am doing is installing driving lights where the factory fog lights go
(my truck didn't come with fog lights). I want them to go on with the high
beams and off on low beams and be off when the headlights are off.
I do not plan on putting a switch inside the truck but I may if the factory
switch can be easily re-wired, where is the factory fog light switch?
If I can't easily adapt the factory wiring I will use the high beam being on
to activate a seperate relay to turn on the driving lights.
Again the Haynes manual is not appear to be correct or complete. I get some
voltages that do not make sense to the diagrams in the Haynes (ie; power at
the headlight bulbs with the switch off).
Where would the switch be if I had the factory fog lights? All the mopar
products I have seen the fogs when turned on go off with the high beams. My
truck has the wiring taped back down at the base of the radiator for the fog
lights and there is a place for the fog light relay in the fuse/relay module
under the hood. I would like to use as much of this wiring as possible.
Thanks!
