RE: Air vent diverter

Check the "Check Valve" at the brake booster and then follow the small line
that comes out of the A/C airbox (at the firewall) and make sure nothing
broke. Normally, the line near the pass-side of the TB (small thin plastic
line) cracks and causes a vacuum leak. The doors in the A/C box are vacuum
operated so if the line breaks/leaks...nothing will switch.

They fixed this in 2002+ models by going to electronic solenoids rather than
vacuum operated. (Also got rid of the annoying "A/C gets hot under WOT".
(This is caused by the inadequate check valve in the vacuum line as well.)

Subject: DML: Air vent diverter

Hi all!
Hey, the other day, I was trying to switch the air from the floor to the
upper vents. I move the switch, and it made a faint hissing sound, and I
hardly got any air coming out of the vents. The weird part was, if the
engine was revved up, airflow decreased. I switched it back to the feet, and
I'm getting hardly any air out. (my feeties is cold!) I have an appointment
to take it in to the dealer on Monday, but I have a trip to make for Turkey
day. Would anyone happen to know what/where I can check to see if I can get
this working again?

Thanks guys!!
