This was a new one on me... driving along this morning with the defroster
on high trying to melt some ice on the side and rear windows. Suddenly, I
heard a loud POP! At first I thought I'd been hit by something falling
from the sky, but then noticed that there was a new crack going about 80%
the width of the windshield. The obvious starting point is last year's
rock chip that had been "repaired." No thanks to I-80 or the state of
Wyoming :-).
I had always wondered if too much heat from the defroster on a cold day
could cause that. Guess now I know.
