Just out of cutiosity, why not just buy a new (or used) 5 speed
transmission? that would probably be cheaper than trying to retrofit an
automatic in place of the manual that's currently in there. It's a real
pain to go the other way (from auto to manual) so I'd imagine that it would
be a hassle the other way around as well.
