I logged several hours and about 240 miles in the Dakota today...I really
like this thing. I'm a fan of fullsize trucks but I can't afford one right
now being a student still but couldn't bring myself down to the S-10/Ranger
size. And besides that, I wouldn't be in a Mopar anymore! It's really
gutsy...enough for me to not really complain too much about the 16.6 mpg I
made with 85% highway time (I know, it's a truck, but last year I had a
brand x half ton, 305/5-speed with almost 150K on the clock that would get
20 MPG on the highway any day of the week...this is smaller and shorter!).
I just really wish it were a stick. Hopefully a tune up will help there
although its running great and starts right up. Only other issues were the
cruise doesn't work (waah, I know), keyless entry is dead casuing the alarm
to go off every single time I shut the truck off, get out, and get back in
(hoping its dead batteries in remotes), and 4wd is inop (I'm thinking bad
vaccum hoses or the axle disconnect is froze from lack of use in those harsh
Miami winters; transfer case shifts fine, no noise).
By this weekend I hope to have a trans-go kit in, get the 4wd in working
order and get some Mobil-1 flowing and see if I get the "switched to
synthetic leak" blues, then next time around if all is well get some Amsoil.
And spray the bottom of the truck with some bar and chain oil to keep
things nice and oily. After that, I bet I'll be broke LOL.
As far as this BBQ...where's this going down at? I like food. I live in
Champaign which is 3 hours south of chi-town but go to school at NIU (~30
miles west of the suburbs, Manufacturing Engineering Technology major...say
that 10 times fast!). Oh well, been a long day, time to get some shut eye!
