RUN!!! - don't walk, away from AAMCO as fast as you can - they are
dishonest theives. My uncle's girlfriend's father worked for Aamco and
the stories I heard.... not to mention my own personal experiance. 3
years ago I took my 2wd Dakota in for repairs - they jacked me on the
cost of the work, and tried to tell me that I signed and I authorized
the rebuild and I was legally bound to pay them (something like $1500) ,
until I read the fine print, pointed out that I only owed them the cost
of the diagnosis and they could not force me to pay them. I had to get
a friend of mine who in so many words - - persuaded them - - to see the
error of their ways and they rebuilt the transmission and cut me a deal
on the price. The trans didn't last long before it started to buzz
(torque converter most likley) - when I took it back under warrenty -
they said "oh no we heard nothing wrong its probably just a heat sheild
vibrating." I was so disgusted I just said Fhak em and never went back.
I got skrewed there big time and will never place myself in that
position ever again.
