I totally agree with you Ray. I've run all of them and have picked the one
that works for my application. They all are excellent choices.

I guess my engine didn't read the advertised flow numbers or dyno tests and
didn't know it was supposed to be faster with the F&B. Maybe Bill or Marty
or Bruce should have a talk with it. :-)

Bottom line is folks, the hype is coming from people trying to sell them.
I'm only a consumer (and bracket racer) who has spent my own money in an
attempt to go faster. I have no agenda to bash or promote any particular
product. I merely try to save my fellow enthusiasts money when I've tried
a product and found little or no value in it.

As I've said before, I've tried a stock TB, a mildly ported 50mm stocker
(with air horns still intact), a F&B 50mm, and a Fastman 52mm. Keep in
mind my engine is a deep breathing, high revving, 318. (13.50's @ 103mph)
The only TB that made any difference was the Fastman 52mm. This is not to
say it would do anything for a basically stock engine. A given engine can
only suck so much air regardless of how much "more" air the TB is able to
flow.

My results are determined under controlled conditions in the "real" world,
where the rubber meets the road. Here's how.... In bracket racing,
repeatable performance (consistency) is the major requirement to be
successful. I've tuned my Dak to the extent it's times will not vary more
the five thousandths of a second (.005) over the course of 4 or 5 runs down
the track. I also record track condition, wind speed and direction,
temperature, humidity and barometric pressure. If my performance changes, I
will know why. My success (and income) depends on it!

The choice is yours as to whom you wish to believe. Do you prefer
"advertised" gains, "butt dyno" claims, tire spinning claims or documented
on track results? I just feel it's important to give all this marketing
hype a reality check from time to time. Your wallet may thank me.... :-)
