any of the DIY car manuals are good.
Chiltons, Hayes etc.

do this 1st.
a quick check is to check the timing (light)
on the eng. and see if its bouncing around on
the marks. steady? its fine, bouncy? gone.

next,
I think theres an adj. for that tensioner,
check the book for that.

can you change a water pump? a few more bolts
and the timing cover is off. always put a new
seal in for the crank vibration damp./pulley.

after pump and cover is off and its visible
just turn in direction of rotation until the
timing marks are lined up.
take bolts out w/o moving posistion of gears,
put new on in, adj. tensioner and reassemble.
