I agree on that, it's def. not stuck closed... and on top of your
reasoning, based on the diagrams I've seen of the heater circulation, it
appears to occur around the t-stat... coolant from from the pass-side of
the engine into the core, out of the core and down into the w-pump.

So if anything, w/ the t-stat stuck closed I would end up with super-hot
heat :)

The super-cold weather is supposed to break soon (today?), so I'll
probably just see if I can stick it out the rest of the winter... I'm
sure in the summer I'll be happy to have a lower temp 'stat... then next
year when I flush for winter I'll replace w/ normal temp...
