So, when you say "a tank," how much are you putting in when you fill
it back up?

I tend to get around 240 miles to a "tank" which is really between
16-17 gallons even though I have a 22 gallon tank. I do mostly
shorter trips (3 miles to school, 3 miles to work). Some of that is
"highway" but for the most part it's stop and go.

Sometimes I'm heavy on the gas (nothing makes me feel better after a
crappy day than to hear those ponies rev up through that flowmaster
muffler :-) ) and other times I'm pretty light on the gas.

On lighter footed freeway trips, I've gotten as high as 19-20mpg
average, but that doesn't happen all that often. When I first got the
truck in 2000, I was filling up every 2-3 days because of how much I
was driving. Now I buy gas about every 2 weeks.
