I queried the Red Line tech about using the 75W-90 (with friction modifier) in the front differential and this was the reply.

The 75W90 contains a friction modifier, since the front differential doesn't have a clutch type limited slip it technically doesn't require the friction modifier but it can reduce friction, temperature and improve operation of the hypoid gear.
