Heh, heh, heh... she's such a kidder. Actually, we just adopted a dog
*named* Dakota :-). No, we didn't name him, that's really the name he
already had. I was flipping through the newspaper the other day and
came across an ad from Animal Aid here in Burlington. I said with
amusement, "hey Honey, here's a dog named Dakota!" I might have known
that's all it was going to take... :-)
We actually didn't make the decision right away. We had our cat at the
vet for a re-check after his recent surgery, and overheard that our vet
happened to be boarding Dakota for Animal Aid. So we asked if we could
see him, and decided that we'd really like to give him a home. It's
funny, all along we've been saying that we weren't going to go looking
for a specific breed of dog, but instead we'd just let our dog find us.
We certainly weren't looking for a dog, I just happened to notice the ad
by accident. I think somehow it was meant to be.
Here's the info from the shelter (scroll down a bit):

And we got a couple of pictures as well:

The vet estimates his birth date as October '96, which would make him a
'97 model...

technically "golden retriever" :-).
So, we still only have two trucks, only now the back seat of the Quad
won't be so empty when we go travelling. And he *loves* the truck.
Smart dog :-).
