I just got my e-mail results from Blackstone, earlier than I had expected.
These guys are clearly on the cutting edge.
I can post exact numbers if anyone is curious. Looks like my fears of a
blown head gasket are unfounded. Here's the summary:
"JASON: We don't often find manganese in oil samples, and when we do it
usually means the customer has used Canadian gas (obviously, in your
case!). The manganese isn't hurting anything at all; we are only pointing
it out so you know why your Mn level is so much higher than average. The
universal averages column shows typical wear from this type of engine
after 3300 miles on the oil. Are you using km or miles? let us know, as we
can accommodate either. The fuel is from idling/city driving. It's fine.
Wear looks okay in your Dakota. Check back to establish trends."
