I'm almost embarrassed to admit this.

I turned my lights on this morning for the drive to work, and had rolled
the dash light dimmer up to full brightness to compensate for it being
light outside. Apparently I pushed it all the way to the "interior
lights on" setting and didn't notice. Thus the dinging. Rolled it back
to a more normal position and it was fixed.
