Tinfoil? bah.
it conducts instead of insulating, and it doesn't seal out salt or mud.
  not worth the 5 seconds of effort IMO.

I was planning to seal it up with some plastic or PVC tubing with a
17-18mm I.D. and a cap, and Jon was thinking about making something up
with an O2 sensor bung on a piece of capped tubing with a bracket to
bolt to the frame, which I think is an even better idea and I wish I'd
thought of it =)
