Which I say is an entirely bogus, made up excuse that the oil companies
figure the average consumer will just accept rather than research. Oil
futures don't jump 10% today, then drop 1%, then drop 1/2%, then drop
1%.... it's a completely bogus explanation.

Granted, I know you work in the oil industry in some manner or fashion,
so it must be hard for you to drop the "company line" even for the list,
I suppose, were I in the same position, I would be vocal in my
defence...er, well, maybe not. In my industry, [computers] I have been
a vocal critic of companies making 300% profit on $2500 Computers and
then 6 months later clearancing the same model at a [on paper] loss.
That's almost as bogus as the oil industry...
