No, just like the MP catalog says it requires 92+ octane, they aren't
kidding either, I mixed some premium and mid-grade to a ~90-91 mix and it
still pinged. I bought the truck and it wound up already having the MP
computer in it. Just to verify everything was the same I swapped them last
night and no noticable difference, although the new computer was a lot
heavier. Some inspection with a flashlight showed the insides are 'potted'
or whatever you call it (the circuit board has that black rubbery silicone
stuff covering it up rather than everything being exposed), and has large
heat sinks as well. I may keep that and sell my old one, I think it might
be better for me being that I plan on getting in the mud and muck now and
then..
