The hood is one piece, but only because the inner support support structure is
welded to the outer skin. Note there is what appears to be a "frame" around the
perimeter and down the center of the hood when looking at it from the
underside. This is use to provide rigidity to the hood skin. This support
structure is hollow and aproximately 3/4" in depth, so there is room for a
little careful clearencing. Don't worry, I'm going to look many, many times
before I start hitting anything with a hammer :)
