At this point, being able to run the A/C is much more important to me
than having clean carpet ;-) So, is this something I can do without
having to take the whole dash out and such, as is suggested in the
FSM?

Seems to me that I have a pretty good chance of being able to remove
it if I just take out the glove compartment?
