Well Kids, last weekend on my trip home from my parents' house downstate, my
trans indicated that it was indeed tired, several times I might add. A slip
here and a slip there on the freeway is quite noticable, especially when you
hear the exhaust note change.
So, a quick call to Danny at Roadmaster Transmission and a reference to the
quote given to me back in March... Well, we worked out the details and the
truck's going in on Monday the 5th and they'll have it for a week. I'll
most likely get it back the following Monday, July 12th. It'll be sporting
high energy clutches (maybe even blue plate clutches), a new torque
converter, and a nice shift kit. Should be good times! I can't wait to get
it on the rollers after it's done so that I can find out how much I was
loosing through the old one.
So yeah, my wallet will end up being $2200 lighter, but hopefully my smile
will be a little wider because of it. Plus, it'll be nice to not have to
worry about the trans while I drive to the BBQ. The way that it was
performing before, I didn't trust it on the 1500 mile roundtrip to Jon's.
I'm going to ask for the old parts back so I'll take some pics of the
carnage after I get it back.
