Well, I survived C@C also (barely) ;-) I was a bit dissapointed
in the DML turnout - I think I only saw about 5 trucks registered with
the Dakota Mailing List as their club (many thanks to those who did!).
Fortunately, I didn't bother to reserve a tent this year, so at least we
aren't out the $145. :-) (I purchased 2 10x10 canopies instead, which
provided a decent amount of shade and a place to hang the DML banner.
We put it up on top of the hill where the stock 4x4 Daks were parked,
which resulted in a nice breeze throughout most of the day.
I saw Ron's Dak up on the dyno from a distance, but didn't run
into him in person, I did see Bill briefly (twice) and met very
briefly with Greg. My apologies to Bill and Greg if I was a bit
out of it - unfortunately on Friday morning I skipped breakfast
and crashed pretty hard around noon. It was a bit of a surprise
as nothing like that had ever happened to me before. Fortunately,
I was able to pull out of it without seeking medical attention (just
barely), thanks to a therapudic rest in Ed's A/C equipped Quad Cab and
a couple of migrane pills from the nice folks one Dakota over. :-)
So anyway, when Bill & Greg came over to the tent I was just getting
my wits back about me, and nursing a splitting headache in my
eyeballs... :-P I still wasn't 100% even on Saturday, but at least
was able to walk around and enjoy the show. I managed to get about
14 hours of sleep Sunday night though, which helped a lot, so I'm
pretty much back up to speed now and ready for the BBQ. :-) I'll
make sure to include breakfast on my list of things to do for next
year though. ;-)
It was a great show as usual, lots of amazing vehicles and
interesting people. :-)
