As a factory trained Harley Davidson mechanic, I recommend HD Special Tool
#1, a ball peen hammer...close your eyes and swing!
JUST KIDDING.....
I use the "twisting screwdriver/prying" method too, seems to work easily.

I don't do it the way TonyC does, I think my way is easier and you're in
less danger of loosing an eye. Take the clip and position it in front of
the caliper lined up with the holes. Make sure the ends are where they're
supposed to be (under the slides) and using a large flat screwdriver, pry
the center up so that the pegs will slip into the holes in the caliper.
I've found that twisting the screwdriver while lifting it yields good
results.

When I was still working in a shop, I could do it with my thumbs, but now I
work behind a desk and don't havethe same hand strength.
